Happy 1 Year Work Anniversary

Me

This time last year I had finished up guiding my first ever hike. The walk, with Life’s An Adventure, was the Light to Light Walk on the Sapphire Coast, about six hours south of Sydney.

I was nervous, and excited all at once. Anxious because I was about to accept the responsibility and safety for eight other human beings, and yet eager to turn my dream to hike as a job, into reality.

Needless to say, the tour was a success and I’ve gone on the lead guide walks across New South Wales, South East Queensland, Tasmania, Northern Territory and Western Australia.

The last year has taught me a lot about myself and, mostly importantly, other people. I’m constantly learning and evolving – another reason why this industry appeals to me.

The path I have chosen within the outdoors industry to take up casual positions for a number of companies, allowing me the flexibility to pick and choose what jobs I want, and when.

Of course, this comes with a number of pros and cons, with the positives currently outweighing the negatives.

By no means have I found my final resting place when it comes to career, however I can conclude the outdoors is where I need to be. To grow, to thrive and to be the best version of me.
