The Next Adventure

One of greatest experiences of a career in the outdoors, is when I am able to work with kids and teenagers.

Outdoor education work is not for everyone. It’s challenging and there are definitely moments of great struggle. The hours are long, the pay is not as rewarding as you would expect for the responsibility and the mental and physical demand is high. Yet, all of this is so worth it when you have monumental (and even small) breakthroughs; when you see the kids transform right in front of you, albeit just a little! I’ve come to realise financial incentive is not substitute for emotional reward.

I’ve been working in outdoor education since the start of 2018, leading small groups on camps and Duke Of Edinburgh expeditions in and around Sydney. Next year I’m taking this work internationally.

My journey abroad will see me lead a team of young adults to Borneo for Antipodeans in January of 2019. It’s an absolute honour to work for a company whose ethos is something that rings true to the core of who I am.

Leadership, Mindfulness, Resilience.

I look forward to sharing more of this adventure in the new year!
